LEADERSHIP TOMORROW 

A program preparing business & civic leaders to impact our community and beyond

LEADERSHIP TOMORROW prepares, engages, and challenges current and emerging leaders through a 10-month long program combining leadership skills and community awareness. Participants connect deeply with each other, develop practical leadership skills, explore community leadership roles, learn about the needs, opportunities, and challenges facing our community, and meet and engage directly with leaders of the organizations working to address them. The outcome is increased leadership ability and passion and an increase in overall capacity to make our community the great place it is to live and work. Leadership Tomorrow is a community-based program preparing leaders to impact our community, become part of a team, and grow their leadership awareness and influence.

After completing Leadership Tomorrow participants will be able to:

Understand and articulate their personal leadership values, internal motivations, strengths and growth opportunities.

Develop a leadership roadmap for further maximize their strengths and motivations, while actively growing in key areas of their leadership.

Actively apply the leadership concepts personally, professionally, and within our community.

Gain a broad understanding of local businesses, governmental, and nonprofit organizations and the characteristics of each.

Prepare to step into a leadership role with their employer or within the community.

Commit to lifelong learning and community engagement.

Become a part of a team, grow in leadership, and make a difference within our community.

PROGRAM SCOPE

Each Leadership Cohort begins annually in autumn with individual leadership coaching and assessments. This 10-month in-person group programming launches at the start of the new year (January) with an overnight retreat at the White Bear Country Inn. The cohort will then meet monthly for half-day sessions held throughout the community.

Each session has an intentional two-part focus: leadership and community topics.

Leadership Topics EXAMPLES: Understanding your leadership style, engaging others in a vision, strategic planning, leading with clarity and building influence

Community Topics EXAMPLES: History/demographics, diversity, environmental stewardship, arts & culture, human services, and economic & business development.

Leadership Tomorrow is facilitated by an experienced leadership development consultant alongside a diverse groups of community leaders that serve as partners and presenters for our community topics. Each participant will receive one-on-one leadership coaching, a customized 360 process with the facilitator, and completion of the MCODE (motivational) assessment.

APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS

Program participants (18-20 total) will be selected by the Leadership Tomorrow Recruitment and Selection Team. Every effort will be made to include representatives from business, government, education, nonprofit organizations, residents at large, and those bringing diversity to the program in areas including, but not limited to professional, geographic area, age, gender, and ethnic background. 

Applicants are invited to complete an online application form. Brief interviews may be held with applicants. Individuals selected will be notified, three weeks prior to the beginning of the sessions.

Tuition $1000

This cost covers all instruction, activities, program materials, meals, and graduation expenses. Partial scholarships are available and a separate application must be submitted to be considered for scholarship assistance.
